Coordinating a grand opening isn’t as easy as grabbing some ribbon and over-sized scissors. It takes planning, strategic arrangement and time.
For a fitness studio opening, riders were encouraged to bring spare office supplies as a special donation to Teachers’ Treasures, a local partner organization that helps teachers provide their students with the supplies necessary for a well-rounded education. Dittoe PR used the charitable tie to spark media interest and contribute to a good cause. A win-win for all involved. Overall, CycleBar Traders Point was able to collect five huge donation boxes filled with new and gently used school supplies for Teachers’ Treasures. Each box weighed nearly 50 pounds! The connection of a school organization since the owners of the studio were teachers really meant a lot to the community and the media agreed.
Dittoe PR also organized the grand opening and press surrounding the Indianapolis distillery, The Broken Beaker. I was in charge of creating more than 100 VIP guest list of the movers and shakers in the Indy area. The pre-party night was such a success they ran out of their spirits by the end of the evening. It took me on a journey of bottling vodka at 5 p.m. to talking with CEO’s of Indianapolis well-known companies. The key was keeping a list of to do’s and tackling them ahead of time so that there were no last minute surprises.
